Having dealt with Bell during 35 years, I have this to say: Anything
else is my choice!
The way their management run the show start from the assumption that the
customer does not know!

My employer, another telecommunication provider, was one of the biggest
Bell customers, 30 millions $CA/ month, and we were still served plain
lies from time to time!
Looks ;like Bell management has found ways to handcuff and gag their
technical staff.

So whatever the offer, Bell is a big "NO GO" for me!
I've had enough!

... And there are some who still think a monopoly is good!

Not for anything but the days of dial up and modems are done too be honest getting on the internet 10 years ago with linux was not obvious i blame win-modems.
So fast fwd 10 years in theory all bell videotron etc
do is offer a router/modem in your home. The fact that they would refuse you any os that supports dhcp is ridiculous. My best advice is pick a reputable and reasonable $ provider and enjoy.
As many have mentioned if there are known issues it will rarely be on your OS side now days. You will most likely never be talking to support and if you do, your knowledge over level 1, might be light years ahead.
And I use Tumbleweed and Bell too, with Gnome and Gnome tweaks!

Leslie

I'll very soon have to find a new internet provider. Any suggestions?

Thank you all for your time and input. I decided to go with Bell because of
their special. One thought though, if Bell supports Android, why wouldn't
they support Linux?

they support Linux?
Because all the useful networing tools in GNU/Linux are GNU tools,
and not what's available in Android/Linux. Android/Linux uses its
own version of the Linux kernelm and by and large doesn't support GNU
userspace.
I use Teksavvy because they don't hang up the phone when I tell them
I use Linux. They still use Bell phone lines, but not Bell's network
services.
